We’ve received our first (of 3) Nuova Simonelli Aurelia Competition espresso machines. These machines have several modifications on them to increase the temperature stability of the machine and have been calibrated at the factory for a brew temperature of 200F.
I used my Scace2 to confirm the calibration and this is what I’m reading.
- Without purging, I get an immediate initial temperature of 198F
- After 3oz of water, the temperature is at 200F
- The hottest the water got was 201F
The pump pressure is set to 9Bar
This machine also has modified steam tips.
